This last weekend madness ruled as Katie and Maddy's busy social schedules collided with a now more active Charlie. For the first two weeks of his life, Charlie chose darkness as he kept his eyes mostly shut in a desire to ... who knows, he's a baby ... but now, he's awake, looking around, and insisting on ... who knows, he's a baby. On the other side, Katie and Maddy had three birthday parties to attend (Lexi's, Eric's, and Tita Rosie's) as well as Katie's Mandarin make up lesson. If that doesn't sound like enough, there was more ... I just can't remember what it was ... it is all a blur ... I have vague memories of the playroom ... and considerations of a playdate that didn't happen in the end ... and horsemen, four of them, one riding a pale horse, and his name was ... yeah, it was a busy weekend - oh right, Friday, we went to register Charlie as a US citizen and apply for a passport - see, I told you there was more fun. And I tacked on a few extra photos of Charlie from the last few days ... Denise wanted them online ASAP! Photos follow: |

Amid rumors, betting, and general disbelief, Michael married Amy in a beautiful wedding in the hills above the Columbia River ... and in a surprising turn of events, Amy married Michael. Okay, okay, for those of you who look at this and wonder why Michael's brother is saying such defamatory things about the groom, Michael courtship of Amy was so tight lipped that his siblings just had to make stuff up ... and then wager on it. Matt, I believe you owe somebody some money ... I'd be more specific, but I don't want to embarrass innocent bystanders.

In other news from last weekend (because Charlie is only the center ring of our large circus), Katie and Maddy (and I) squeezed not one but two birthday parties in. With new pals Veronika and Marie both turning two, Katie and Maddy gathered their finest party attire and had a grand old time. For Veronika's intimate affair, Katie and Maddy wore complimentary pink, puffy dresses then the next day headed to Marie's party in stylish mermaid outfits. Well done, girls. Photos follow: |

Despite the weekend's trauma, local bon vivant, Kathrine Chai-Mulkerin, celebrated her 5th birthday a couple days late with a last minute bash on Tuesday. While the change of date to a weekday left some friends' parents in the office and most of her schoolmates unable to be invited on such short notice, Katie's many Pebble Bay pals turned out for an afternoon of socializing, finger food, and a magic show. While the affair's dress ran from t-shirt casual to little girl sundress styling, Miss Katie dazzled her guests in a tasteful pink and purple mermaid outfit with an authentic mermaid headpiece. Other standouts include Katie's dad, who kind of trimmed his beard for the occasion, and brothers, Ashley and Jessie, who amazed the other guests with well honed biceps highlighted with white muscle shirts. Next year, perhaps, Katie's parents will book a runway and aging super-model to add to the haute couture among the chicken wings. |
