At almost 7 months, Charlie is making a move or many moves. A tooth is moving through his bottom gum. He does this kind of crawl, flop, swim across the floor. He is leaning this way and that as he practices standing (with help). And saliva frequently moves down his chin. As I said, a boy on the move. Enjoy the photos: |

With Charlie continuing to grow, change, put on weight, stay awake more, poop, and generally make his presence more known, his effect on family dynamics has been noticeable. Recently, Chalie's mother, Denise, has been given to carrying him around like a trophy and shouting "Three-peat! Three-peat!" and "Look who's driving growth now!" Analysts with other banks declined to comment though some sobbed softly over the phone. Katie, Charlie's eldest sister, has demonstrated a keen interest in her baby brother. She has also demonstrated a keen interest in books about how bodies work and where organs are located. We will be watching her desire to play doctor very carefully. Mark, Charlie's dad, would have commented, but couldn't be roused sufficiently from his exhausted nap on the sofa long enough for a coherent response ... unless "Luke, I am your ... zzzz" means something. Madeline was at the playroom - she has her minions to consider. Photos follow: |

Charlie. Eyes open. Light or white background. No smile. Face forward. Hands down. Simple, right? You try taking a passport photo of a baby ... on the other hand, don't try it, just hit yourself over the head a half dozen times with a hammer ... it will be less painful. None of the following photos fit all of the US government requirements ... and these were the good ones. Photos follow: |

After four nights in the hospital and a much too long wait for the bill on Monday morning ... gee, is it afternoon already, Charlie and Denise came home to a cute baby's welcome. Just like the Romans did with triumphal generals, Katie followed Charlie around whispering "You grow up and get less cute. You grow up and get less cute." (If this reference doesn't make sense to you, you should have paid more attention in Classical Western History class). Anyway, most of you aren't checking out the site for my wit so on to the photos ... just click read more ... |

Charlie had his first calculus lesson today, but didn't do as well as we would have liked as he kept wandering off to walk on water. What? Your kids don't do this as well? Of course, it is easy to continue imagining Charlie's brilliance and perfection while he still mostly sleeps. I know it will change, but right now I allow myself to imagine halos. Charlie had a few new visitors today. Aunt Vanessa thought Charlie was so cute he'd make a great accessory to go with her Louis Vuitton handbag. High praise from Auntie V. Auntie Jenny was also finally allowed to see Charlie. She would have seen him sooner, but she had a cold and her boss (that would be me) was mean and not taking any chances. So it is good to have Jenny off the sick list and on the Charlie fan list. Obligatory photos to follow: |
